Chafing Involving the Legs
One problem commonly gone through by individuals who exercise is chafing involving the legs or inner thighs. The thighs are activated during many different types of activities including walking and jogging, biking, even swimming, which creates friction onto the skin, or chafing “hot spots.” Here are a handful of useful tips for eliminating chafing involving the thighs:
Wear protective clothing that creates a barrier between skin that normally rubs together. Biking shorts or pants that are snug however, not too tight keep loose skin under control. Be sure to purchase cotton or specialty fabrics called “wicking fabrics” to wick sweat and excess moisture out of the chafing site.
Apply an anti-chafing product for the chafing place. Products such as Body Glide and Lanacane Anti-Chafing Gel develop a synthetic barrier along with your skin to lubricate locations where skin touches. These anti-chafing items are portable, some even water proof, and can be reapplied throughout the activity or outing.
Try and shed weight. We know it’s difficult, but decreasing the sized the thighs as well as other chafe-prone areas of the body will eliminate skin rub, reducing the probability of chafing.
